Binod Thakur

Binod K. Thakur, M.D.

Binod K. Thakur, M.D., specializes in allergy, asthma, eczema and clinical immunology for adults and children. He has been in practice at The Toledo Clinic since 1999. His academic experience includes medical teaching and research. His publications have appeared in several medical journals, and his work has been presented at both national and international medical conferences.

After completing his medical education and post-graduate training at Patna Medical College and Hospital in India, Dr. Thakur received advanced medical training working in England for several years. He was awarded membership in the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom (MRCP, UK). In the United States, he completed residency training at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, N.Y., where he also served as Chief Resident in the Department of Pediatrics. Subsequently, he completed a two year fellowship in Allergy and Clinical Immunology in the Department of Medicine, also at Stony Brook.

Dr. Thakur is double board certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and by the American Board of Pediatrics. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology; the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology; and the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Thakur is also a member of the Ohio State Medical Association and the Toledo Allergy Society.

A native of India and a proud U.S. citizen, Dr. Thakur is devoted to serving the local community with medical knowledge and skills that he has acquired in three different continents. Married since 1981, he resides with his wife, Kalyani, in Sylvania and their two sons graduated from Sylvania Public School System.
